During the first lockdown this was my daily view- attempting to teach practical subjects such as Textiles, Art, Photography and Graphics at my desk to girls around the globe instead of being in school. Pictured are my pile of lateral flow tests, which I still have to use twice weekly and have been doing so for over a year now. Also on my desk are some of the tools of my trade- my Chrome book, my visualiser so the girls can see my work; and needles, scissors, thread and fabric. In the first lockdown we improvised in Textiles for those who had no equipment, but by the second we had produced kits of all the practical pieces the students would need to work from home. The conclusion has definitely been reached that teaching is far more successful in person though! I am sure that the rest of the teaching world would agree. As a hand embroidery project was so successful I decided to revisit it for this chronicle.
