2020 was bad enough, uncertainty cancelled family trips and thinking we were far enough away from the virus, it was something that was happening overseas. That changed, the virus arrived by air and ship quietly infiltrating our country, killing the old and sick first. 2021 arrived and we thought all that behind us now, but a new variant arrived and more people were getting sick, lockdowns enacted, no visiting family or friends. We were in lockdown for over 3 months, some states longer. My daughter was pregnant I was initially unable to help. Very sad the baby came and I was able to help and care for her other daughter who is now being home schooled. Case numbers only started to decline recently as vaccination rates reached 70% this was the only way out for people. The state is only now starting to open up again. This is something we will have to learn to live with sad but true, the virus is very adaptable and will change to survive, we need to be careful. I am not sure when the whole country will reunite and open again or when we will be able to visit family and friends in other states.
