I started my Covid Chronicle piece in winter when everyone was at a low ebb after the long period of confused messages from a bumbling and inept egocentric prime minister.I was helped by long winter walks over frost dusted grass and under skeleton trees, so that became my theme. Then I thought it would be an idea to portray the whole year in separate panels:
The spring piece was relatively optimistic as we were unaware of what was to come. There were lots of jokes and songs, as we thought it would all be over very soon and then the warm summer weather meant long days in the garden, enjoying a nice cup of tea! But by Autumn, trapped behind the net curtains I was definitely looking forward to “freedom” hoping to be able to invite friends to lunch and to return to theatre and gallery visits.
