A virus set upon the world in 2020. Little did the world know the effects of this unknown virus and the devastation that would follow. As the weeks turned into months I found myself unable to watch the news, I lost the need to go on social media. My own heart was breaking as I caught a rare glimpse of the news and I heard of the ever increasing numbers of people dying from the virus. I soon realised the effect these deaths were having on families worldwide. I realised how many hearts were being broken and shattered on a daily basis. These thoughts of sadness and despair stayed with me and from those thoughts my panel ‘Shattered Hearts’ was born. As a child I saw the golden thread as a connection with my nannan who had passed away...that thought still rests with me today. Hence the golden threads on my panel. “May the golden thread forever bind you to those who go before us!”
