The Covid Chronicle Patchwork Project helped me through the second phase of COVID in India. Fear, grief and loss have been predominant emotions this past year and a half. When I started on my design for the patchwork I decided it wasn't going to be depressing, sad or scary. It had to portray Love, Faith and Hope. I imagined myself in a mythical magical garden and the Tree of Life motif resonated with all the positive emotions I wanted to share with other friends across the world. I chose vibrant greens and browns for the tree, fuchsia, lavender, yellow and purple for the flowers and warm orange, yellow tones for the golden glow lighting up my tree! I also used Indian silk and brocade to add rich warm tones and textures to the piece. I have used chain stitch, French knots, stem stitch and fabric highlights. I hope it brings joy and hope to everyone. As nature rejuvenates... so must our spirit
