Harpa Jónsdóttir - Iceland
Iceland
Worry and calm, feeling safe and being afraid, having faith in the healthcare system and feeling cast. aside, being aware of my enormous privilege as a citizen of a rich country where early vaccinations are available for all - and being impatient to get vaccinated at the same time; these are just some of the conflicting emotions that dominated my life during the pandemic. Some of the words on the piece are in Icelandic. The pandemic is global, but each individual experience is also local and personal. At the centre is a representation of nature. Without nature there is nothing, and even worse things are on the horizon if we do not turn the climate change around and change our attitude towards the environment.
