About

My panel is based on the contradictions we have faced in the past year.  The positives (in pink) of having family time together, especially as the mother of a late-teen, having the time to listen to the birds singing, the coming together of community, of getting to know our neighbours and of helping each other.  Then the negatives (in green) of loneliness, the loss of friends to Covid, and anxiety of what will happen next and not being able to see and hug our friends and family.  And, then there are the contradictions we feel about Lockdown and Quarantine, on the one side keeping us and our loved ones safe and on the other the issues of isolation and anxiety.

On the Isle of Man we were Covid free for several months in 2020 and went about our normal lives, our borders were closed to all but Manx residents, and so, whilst keeping us safe, with all our family living in the UK we have not been able to see them, even over a garden fence, for almost 2 years.  The closed borders are keeping our Island and our residents safe, but also keep us isolated from the people we love. I hope you enjoy my creation, I have loved the process and the project.
